Chicken Coop Regulations in Miami: Know Where You Can Cluck and Where You Can'

If you're a Miami resident with dreams of raising your own chickens, you're in luck – but it depends on where you live. As a Miami realtor, I understand the importance of knowing the ins and outs of your neighborhood. And lately, chicken coops have been a trending topic among homeowners.

In South Miami, you're permitted to keep up to four hens and five chicks, with one important note: no roosters allowed! Pinecrest allows for five hens, but there's no mention of chicks in their regulations. However, if you reside in the City of Miami or Coconut Grove, you're in for a feathered treat. You can have a whopping 15 hens and even up to 30 chicks in your backyard. That’s a LOT of chickens!

But here's the twist – if you're in unincorporated Miami-Dade County or Coral Gables, feathered friends of the chicken variety are a no-go. The rules are clear: no fowl allowed!

Remember, it's always best to check with your local government for the most up-to-date regulations before you embark on your chicken-raising adventure. Happy clucking!
